A rare pattern of Berber handira. Middle Atlas Labyrinth.
Wedding bedspreads were woven by hand by cousins, sisters, mother and aunts for the future wife. They were put on a girl’s shoulders on the day of the ceremony.
They were not only decorative but, above all, brought luck to the woman.
Baraka means good luck, protection from evil through magic.
Handira is original; wool, cotton and metal sequins. From the 80-90s of the XX century.
